A lesson to be learned: Identify your target

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – A grandfather checking on his neighbor is shot and killed by Fort Worth police. The shots rang out early Tuesday morning near Woodhaven Country Club, in east Fort Worth.

Those close to the family say the victim lived nearby and heard his neighbor’s burglar alarm. Neighbor Jerry Wayne Waller then apparently went outside to see what was going on.
The 72-year-old man didn’t even make it to the house across the street before he was shot. He died on his own property.

The neighbors in the Woodhaven Country Club area and generally know each other pretty well. Becky Haskin, a former Fort Worth City Councilmember, lives in the area and said she believes Waller, “…was doing what neighbors do probably checking on the neighbor that the alarm went off.”
The elderly man, who was armed at the time, was shot and killed in his own driveway by police responding to a burglary call. “We heard five shots,” Haskin recalled. They were just rapid fire one after the other.”

Speaking on the incident Fort Worth police Cpl. Tracey Knight said, “Officers felt threatened by the man with the handgun and he was shot.”

After the shooting Haskin said, “The police officers were sobbing uncontrollably and very distraught.”

The cops were “very distraught” because they hadn’t had time to book a hotel for their paid vacations.

All cops lie, all the time.

Disarm cops for a safer America.

    Fuck Obama

Remember the brave men on the USS Liberty.

Piss poor excuses for “officers” In my day you did not pull your weapon unless there was a VERY high level of threat and an armed person was not it! Todays cops are just thugs with badges. Shame is when the SHTF a lot are going to die because of trigger happy shits like this.

“CBS 11 has learned that the two officers involved were not hurt and have been placed on administrative leave.”

Oh, well thank God these two cowardly excuses for human beings weren’t hurt.

Fuck ‘administrative leave’. These two ass clowns should be up for Murder 1.

“Officers felt threatened by the man with the handgun and he was shot.”…… Does this mean I can now shoot and kill LE because I now feel threatened when I see a LE with a gun? I am afraid if this is whitewashed I foresee bad thing happening.

  5. Dan O says:

So, now it’s: See man with gun. Shoot man with gun. ??? Whatever happened to “Stop! This is the police. place your weapon on the ground.” Or something to that effect. No questions, no commands, just shoot the man with a gun.

Murder. Plain, simple. And their training officer should be their cell mate.

wtf? back when i was a cop(100 years ago) there was no “i feel threatened by a gun” unless it was actually shooting at you. otherwise you kept your cool until you found out what was going on. little old lady was killed here the exact same way last year. she was deaf and couldn’t hear the cops say put the shotgun down. wtf, was he bind and couldn’t see it was a little old lady? btw, the boston bombers friend, suspected of helping him murder 3 guys, that was killed by an fbi agent during interrogation in fl last week? they tried to say he pulled a knife, but now admit he was unarmed. i’d bet he was cuffed too.

  7. MM says:

Utter fucking bullshit-not a word about ordering the grandfather to drop-wouldn’t be surprised if they just opened up on him

  8. DanaL says:

I call bullshit! More and more it appears that police response usually ends in the death of an innocent bystander.
