So much for dignity

Several lawmakers took to the House floor Monday evening to make the “Hands up, don’t shoot,” gesture to protest the police shooting of the unarmed Ferguson teen, Michael Brown.
“Hands up, don’t shoot. It’s a rallying cry of people all across America who are fed up with police violence,” Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) said as he took the floor. “In community, after community, after community, fed up with police violence in Ferguson, in Brooklyn, in Cleveland, in Oakland, in cities and counties and rural communities all across America.”
Jeffries added that people are fed up with injustice, a broken criminal justice system and “continuing to see young, unarmed African-American men killed as a result of a gunshot fired by a law enforcement officer.”

What about white folks getting shot by cops?
Once again, the very people that scream the loudest about racial polarization are doing their best to make sure that it stays that way.

And then there’s this:

Rangel went on to address the idea of reparations for slavery, suggesting that it goes beyond money. “Some people may talk about payment for restitution for past crimes committed against human beings,” he said. “But that restitution could be the ability to say that we’re going to make certain that people of color in this country would be able to have access to the same type of education, live where they want to live, compete against anybody for the job, and not feeling that they’re inferior because people have been taught that just because they have a different complexion that they are superior.”

Mr. Rangel, your people are held down because they allow themselves to be held down. They’re taught from one generation to the next to let the government take care of them without contributing a damned thing.
One of my favorite sayings, and it’s a widely spread sentiment, is that I’m willing to help anybody that’s willing to help themselves. But when your ‘Congressional Black Caucus’ starts demanding more from folks that have worked to get where they are to give to those that have spent their entire lives with their hands out for their free shit, then you can kiss my lily white ass.

Putting all your effort, hopes & dreams into being a gangster, or a hoop star are not realistic goals for most all black kids, but the sharpton’s and their ilk continue to feed them the white man’s burden story even with all the gimme’s since the civil rights act.
However, getting an education in something worth learning, & that someone will pay you for worth pursuing.
So far I haven’t heard any of that from the so-called black leadership. Except for Bill Cosby, whom is currently being raked over the coals by the MSM.
    What a coincidence.
When they start talking seriously about these things, as well as black on black shootings in places like detroit, chicago, LA, etc. maybe someone will take them seriously.
Until then, it’s just unnecessary noise.

Let me see if I got this right, a black guy who is a foot taller and twice the weight strong arms little Indian or Pakistani store clerk and subsequently gets shot by a police officer. I am sure when contacted by the police officer he was acting like a saint (choke, cough, gasp, insert sarcasm here). All the blacks demonstrate their disapproval of not letting Michael Brown getting away with the robbery by burning down and looting at least 12 businesses that had nothing to do with the officer shooting the black guy except the one store that had the audacity to have a surveillance system showing the black guy committing the robbery. What am I missing other than the looters and arsonist being shot?

    • Wirecutter says:

I saw a picture somewhere of a black dude holding a sign that said “No mother should have to worry about her son being shot while robbing a store”.
Ten years ago I would’ve automatically suspected it was photoshopped as a joke, nowadays I ain’t so sure.

    Amen.

  4. X says:

Hands up, don’t shoot hunh? How about Pants up, Don’t loot!

  5. Firehand says:

Better watch it, X, you’re denigrating their culture. And since we’re supposed to consider all cultures equal, we mustn’t criticize them for a little looting and arson.

Play nice.
