That’s actually a pretty good deterrent.

It looks like the ferry I rode on occasionally located in Back Bay NB. A 35 min ride to Deer Island NB. Some of the strongest currents and the highest tides in the World are located in the Bay of Fundy.

Things are a little different here in Canada, Wirecutter. There are only two types of police in New Brunswick and most other provinces, the city police forces and the RCMP who are federal. Traffic fines are payable to the provincial treasurer so there is no budgetary incentive for the police to write more tickets. The way that Ferguson, Missouri or New York City is run, where fines for chickenshit offences are used to fill the city coffers is not acceptable to us Canadians. Using the police to gather revenue changes them from peace officers to law enforcement officers which is a terrible change.

It’s good to know that there are others who understand the basic difference between an LEO and a PO. A former sheriff told me of the difference years ago and he lived his life following the role of a PO. A very well respected man.
