Not familiar with the lay out of the Pseudo bug. Did she fill the radiator over flow, or the windshield washer?
I’ve worked on a thousand of those things if I’ve worked on one. And yes, they’re pieces of shit.
But I can’t figure out what she’s got that nozzle plugged into. The coolant fill is at the rear of the engine compartment on that side. It’s not the washer fluid, it’s by the coolant/radiator cap and you can actually see the blue cap for the washer reservoir in the picture.
Power steering is at the left (vehicle left, not your left) end of the cylinder head, and good luck opening that without some kind of tool.
I have no idea what she’s got that pump plugged into. Possibly a staged picture?
The older bugs did have the gas tank there, and engines in the back.
I grew up in a ’55 and ’56 Beetle, and also remember the reserve lever on the firewall. It took $3 to fill an empty tank back then.
I started driving at .28/gal and almost shit when gas jumped to .50 /gal after I came home from WestPac. Now we can only dream of $2/gal gas. Wyoming produces energy of every kind, oil wells all over the place, and we have some of the highest gas prices in the country.
Except for California, especially during the summertime when the refineries mix their ‘summer blend’ because of emissions standards. Right now, in the dead of winter, our gas went from $2.39 to $2.47 overnight because of rumors of a shortage. Fucking rumors, man…..
But yeah, I’d expect Wyoming, Montana and the Dakotas to be giving gasoline away these days.
My last fill- up was @ $1.58.9 in OKC. Two days ago, the gas price finder showed a couple of stations on the south side below $1.30/gal.

My 72 beetle had a gas tank under the hood, but you used a filler neck on the side in front of the driver’s door.
The dummy blonde has the nozzle in the washer fluid storage tank.

Not even sure where she’s putting the gas; power steering reservoir, or windshield washer bottle….? None of the pictures I could find showed the oil fill port on that side.
Beetles from the 50’s had filler caps under the nose but that gal isn’t old enoughh to remember that.
She’s filling the reservoir for the aftermarket tailgate flamethrower…
I have heard that gas is a great sub for anti freeze. Pffffftttttt.
She is filling the urea container. Its a diesel. Look at the filling station hose. Not a fuel type hose.
Its a European plate on the vehicle, and yes, that is a European fuel nozzle. Urea comes in large bottles similar to anti freeze.

An additive also called diesel exhaust fluid. It binds with the nitrogen oxide which is produced by lean burning diesel to eliminate soot. In the end, instead of nitrogen oxide, your exhaust is CO2 and ammonia.
Urea is the main ingredient in urine that helps the body rid itself of excess nitrogen.
That’s what I thought when I heard the word Urea. Sounds like hippie shit to me.

Howdy All,
Don’t be complaining about the VW diesels, they are fine transportation. And remember the EPA doesn’t like ’em – to me that means they’re Good To Go! Of course the fact that my first car was a VW diesel, that I’ve always owned one or more VW diesels, and that I have two Jetta TDI’s now with 489,000 miles between ’em might affect my viewpoint.
