My Brother had severe schizophrenia (I think they call it bipolar for women)……

He chained smoked…..(while trying to quit many times)…..which killed him in the end…..

It wasn’t until after his death and my daughter finishing her education as a pharmacist that I learned a truly nasty little fact…..

Most schizophrenics and/or bipolars are heavy smokers…..the way she explained it…..it seems to calm the voices…..

Bipolar and schizophrenia are different, and either sex can get either one. One of the theories on mental disorders and substance abuse is that people are trying to self medicate. Or, simply lack self control.
