I guess I was lucky in that area, while at Ft Dix in the mouth

  3. POd American says:

    Been there, done that!

  4. PawPaw says:

We didn’t get blisters in BCT. Our Drill Sergeants made us soak our boots in water, put them on, and walk them dry. This was the first Sunday of basic. After that the boots fit and no one in our platoon had a problem.

  5. USexpat says:

Shaka Zulu used to run his men in a circle barefoot over thorns to toughen them up. The ones who didn’t toughen were hung in trees with a stick shoved up their ass.
That being said, wonder if those funny shaped feet got reshaped before the boots did?

  6. Andy says:

get out the needle and thread and insert the drains.

  7. Gregbee says:

Somebody needs some moleskin and better fiting shoes.

  8. Cederq says:

Oh yeah, I remember those days… green socks mixed with blood and puss, and I use to wear boots all the working on the farm and never got the blisters I got in BCT. Those I surely don’t miss!

  9. C.a. says:

After you wore them several times, they wouldn’t stay up

  10. Blue Tile Spook says:

Jumping out of a top rack at reveille, with feet in that condition from boondockers, was never fun. Agony.

Only ever got “hot spots” here, no real blisters. I did end up with nerve damage in my toes that took a few years to fully recover because I wore boots several sizes too small… Now I always buy 1-2 sizes bigger because I like having room in my boots, ventilation, etc.

If your comment 'disappears', don't trip - it went to my trash folder and I will restore it when I moderate.
