ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police said a federal agent accidentally shot themselves in the heel Tuesday while attempting to catch a gun falling from their holster.

The incident took place inside Orlando International Airport around 11:20 a.m. when the agent was approaching a checkpoint. The agent tried to take off their shoulder bag when it caught on the holstered weapon, the Orlando Police Department said in a statement.

Is there anyone in the media who actually knows the rules of English grammar???

…”a federal agent”… (singular) …”shot themselves”… (plural) And the same thing in the next bloody paragraph.

This is only one of a million reasons why we have no use for them.

And as for that dipstick of an agent, familiarity has definitely bred a bit of contempt in this case.

Sounds better when you replace with “itself”, “its”, and “it”.
