Shouldn’t this be under, “Guess the Race?”

    • idiots! luis says:

That was the first thing I thought of also. Hell already the news shows them looting.

    • AC says:

      My first thought, as well.

I think they had the foresight to put a deputy with a rifle in each boat, the last time I saw this being done. Now we all know why.

  2. Elmo says:

    Sad news indeed.

  3. Lofty says:

I cant get my head around this…….

  4. Pat Umaporn says:

Yeah, a real WTF moment. It may be an isolated event. That said, there’s not been a single breath about this on the local media. They are breathless and near hysterical in trying to find something new to say. The cajun navy and locals have done heroic work. Even as I type NBC2 is interviewing a couple of guys from Lake Charles, LA. Basically they are saying, people came to help us and we’re here to help others…

The difference between the homegrown local reporters and the various outsiders coming to report from just about anywhere else has been amazing.

I’m on the NW side of Houston in an unincorporated part of Harris County. Although there isn’t much in elevation changes, some areas have more water than others due to the many little rivers, creeks, and bayous. In town the CBS studios were flooded out – PBS lent them some space while they reconstituted and reconfigured. Out in the burbs, the watershed is what it is and there are definite wet and dry clines.

A small dam/levee in North Harris County along I-45 is beginning to fail. Mandatory evacuations have begun. The Addicks Reservoir Dam is having to release water to preserve its structure.

Most of the people I’ve heard or had contact with have done and will do a lot for their neighbors. HEB and Kroger, the two local grocery stores near me have had to reduce their hours to accommodate their employees’ safety/ability to get to and from work but they’ve been open even in the worst of it.

Walmart/Target/Sams/Costco have all been open where they can – water levels alone have determined this. Several of the distributors have made deliveries through the waters to keep the stores open.

  5. Okie says:

    Fuck ’em !

Soooo, what else is new ???
32″ of rain so far at Okie’s Hermana’s place. The carpet is still dry…

  6. Trib says:

Checked the Cajun navy Facebook page Appears to be true. Bands of gang/looters are taking what they can. Sad. Trump needs to give the Gov. 300 Marines with the right to shoot if fired on to patrol the area. Any caught should be floating face down in the bayou.

  7. Glider Rider says:

Yea. My wife sent me that. Same thing happened in New Orleans. They would shoot at the boats. They just left. Fuck em.

  8. Elric says:

    That’s just sad…

  10. Angel says:

    Now, consider this:
After Katrina, thousands of NO refugees settled in Houston. Better welfare, richer environment. They settled in Sheila Jackson Lee’s district and are the primary reason she’s still in office. I’m willing to bet these are the fine upstanding citizens in question.
A Native Texan, regardless of race, wouldn’t be that ungracious.

    • Rob says:

      Angel –

That was exactly my first response to this news. No question it’s the same trash from Katrina.

    • Glider Rider says:

      You are correct.

    • Bobo the Hobo says:

Angel, you beat me! I saw this yesterday and couldn’t put my finger on why this information kept tickling my brain.

Yeah, just some of those transplanted Louisiana yutes, just trying to make a living.

      • John Deaux says:

For the record, those feral pests from noo la ( new orleans ) aren’t typical of Louisiana in any way and we in no case claim that trash as one of our own.

  11. czechsix says:

Seems might be a good opportunity to clear out some of the shitbirds, but I’m not in the area either.

  12. ontoiran says:

i’m going to guess that these “people” are katrina victims that were brought here after that storm. boy, did we ever shoot ourselves in the foot with that one. for the longest, they were going around wearing their “katrina survivor” status like they had been through Auschwitz or something.

  13. fjord says:

never let a crisis go to waste

  14. I ain’t gonna blame it all on Katrina survivors. Here in the blue parts of Texas the natives, meth heads, and wetbacks have been breeding their own special POSs for many years. Just ‘choot ’em and let the gators and four legged rats chow down. Hang a few from the lamp post and bridges as a reminder to any on the fence about looting that it won’t get you three hots and a cot. To all the rescuers: THANK YOU!! and remember with all that water you won’t even have to shovel. “Body? where? I don’t see no stinkin body”.

  15. Sanders says:

The Governor ought to deputize all those folks as temporary Texas Rangers….let your imagination take it from there.

Play nice.
