Implications of Houthi capture of US Navy underwater drone

The Iran-backed Yemeni Houthis have captured a US Navy underwater drone. The navy says the drone was part of a “meteorological study,” a lame excuse for carrying out a secret operation along Yemen’s coast. So what was really going on?

I would hope the designers had installed a self-destruct system. This day and age, however I doubt it.

It didn’t help that the damned thing was painted ‘Safety Orange.’ What great camouflage, a bright orange object floating in the water.

The ChiComs captured and then later returned one last year also. So, the stupid assholes in the Navy didn’t learn anything at all.

I know, let’s paint all our stealth aircraft Safety Orange so no one will walk into them on the tarmac.

Stupid burns. Burns even worse when it is our side that commits the stupidity.

These things have a finite battery life. We’d never find the damn things after the mission if they weren’t that color. Besides, it’s commercial off the shelf tech. Anyone with a big enough checkbook already has one. Lighten up, Francis.

Great name, Remus. Did they name others Aunt Jemima? How about Uncle Tom?
