That city is just a fucking cesspool

The Detroit area is dealing with a significant Hepatitis A outbreak. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) reports 630 known cases in Southeast Michigan in 2017, twenty of them resulting in death. There were 150 cases diagnosed in the city of Detroit alone last year. Public health officials are especially troubled by the number of food handlers who have been infected with the disease.

Oh, THAT’s just fucking charming. One more thing to worry about here in Mogadishu-on-the-Mississippi.

        Been to Lewiston/Auburn lately?
        Per Wikipedia:
2000 Census: population 35,690; 95.7% White, 1.1% Black or African American, [etc].
2010 Census: population 36,592; 86.6% White, 8.7% Black or African American, [etc].
The increase in the second category ain’t African-Americans, it’s Somalis. Mogadishu-on-the-Androscoggin indeed. Wiki further tells us: “In August 2010, the Lewiston Sun Journal reported that Somali entrepreneurs had helped reinvigorate downtown Lewiston by opening shops in previously closed storefronts. Amicable relations were also reported by the local Franco-American merchants and the Somali storekeepers.” Maybe so, but I was up there a couple times last summer and fall, and downtown didn’t look so great, nor were there people out and about, apart from groups of 3-6 Somali males aged 15-25.
