you just haven’t had the right person cook it for you. and since you won’t let ME cook you some, you will never know the joys of properly prepared spam.

What’s the expiration date? Maybe it’d be worthwhile mounting a deep sea challenger expedition to put it back on a grocer’s shelf.

    I’m calling bullshit.

  6. bob says:

Before we launch a rescue/salvage mission, show the top side to see if it has been opened yet.

  9. Don in Oregon says:

At 16230′ deep the pressure is 7000 psi. I would expect to see the can just a LITTLE bit squished.

  10. SCPO USN Ret. says:

Obviously the person who tossed the can overboard prefers the original recipe.

  11. Roy says:

“…see the can just a LITTLE bit squished.”

Well, it would depend on whether the can had been breached, i.e. opened or punctured. You can’t tell by the photo, but if it has been breached, then the pressure inside vs outside is equal.

There were perfectly intact wine bottles in the wreckage of the Titanic because the water pressure forced the corks inside the bottle allowing the pressure to equalize.

  12. warhorse says:

if it were a full can, it would be buoyant enough to float. that sucker is empty.

  13. Bill says:

Has to an opened can.No way it could have been a sealed can when the picture was made.

  14. Antibubba says:

I expect it might be a bit saltier than usual.

Play nice.
