A fundraiser for Angel

The Teen Queen’s Prom – one of her proudest moments and her favorite picture

Sometimes the best things you can do for a friend are the hardest. Raising funds for a Friend in need are one of them.
Over the years, both Angel and myself have raised tens of thousands of dollars for those friends, as a matter of fact Angel’s last post was a fundraiser for a friend that lost both of her sons in a car accident.

Today, I’m doing a fundraiser for Angel over the loss of her daughter.

There’s never a good time for such a tragedy, never. This one is especially bad for Angel’s family. Her and her husband had closed on a new home just yesterday, one in a town that had a special school for her daughters’ disabilities. Anybody that’s ever purchased a home knows how that can drain a bank account with all the fees and costs, not to mention the down payment.
Needless to say, money is an issue right now. If Life was fair, money would not matter at a time like this, but Life is never fair.

Pain. Stress. A loss. Finances shouldn’t even be a worry right now. Money should be the furthest thing from their minds at a time like this. We can’t do much for the pain and stress, although every one of us wishes we could right now. We can do something about the finances, though.
What I’m asking right now is that you remember all that Angel has done for others over the years, and do the same for her. Please give, and give generously. Her and her family really need the help right now.

Her PayPal address is royapple4@yahoo.com
You don’t need a PayPal account to send money through them – they just process the funds. You can go to www.paypal.com and donate using a debit or credit card.
If you don’t do PayPal or would rather send cash or a check, send your help to me at the address below and I’ll forward it along.

Thank all of you very much. I appreciate your willingness to give. I’ve always maintained my readers have the biggest hearts in the world.

Sent it to your sidebar donate link, too stupid to know how to send money to an address in paypal, but can hit a button

  7. Rob says:

Oh no… There are no words to help you with kind of tragedy…the loss of a child is an unbelievable pain.
When I went thru it cash helped. It gave me time to deal with the grief, time to breath. Cash was almost as good as a strangers hand on my shoulder & kind words in my ear.
There was/is no way thru this (for me) other than time & time just dulls the pain.

Angel I wish I could do more for you than a few bucks but my thoughts & prayers are with you and your husband on this sad time.

  8. Chris says:

I’ll be making a donation as soon as I get home tonight. So sorry for her and the family.

Do you know if she had any kind of twitter presence? Facebook? Anything we can lean on to get the word out?

  9. carolann says:

Thanks for the info Ken, went and left a little something.

  10. Douglas Walker says:

My heart goes out to her. Her blog was allways the first one I would go to from yours. I’m in the process of placing my son in a group home, and my wife is in a nursing home. I will donate something as soon as I can,. For now, I will pray.

    • Wirecutter says:

I know, John. I almost passed out when Angel sent me the email. Horrible news.

      • Devil Tongue says:

The news doesn’t get any worse than having to bury your child. I feel so bad for Leslie and her family & yours as well. So sorry buddy, please pass my condolences to Miss Lisa as well, thanks in advance.

  23. MartyB says:

  24. Karen K Mulhauser says:

Sent to paypal. I really appreciated all the help and prayers when my boys died. I’m so glad you set this up for her Kenny. Prayers to Angel and her family ❤

    • Wirecutter says:

      Thank you, Karen.
I’m just sorry there’s not more that we can do, same as with you. Distance limits us – sometimes all we can do is offer that long distance support and help with what we can. At least it’s not a casserole.

      • Karen K Mulhauser says:

It sure does put a damper on things with distance I agree. I feel so bad for her i know what I’ve been going through and I hate that any parent has to go through this. Prayers to all!!! I would have loved a casserole lol we got alot of rigatoni. Tell Angel I’m always here for her!!

        • Wirecutter says:

I think she knows that, Karen. I really do.

I’d have been thrilled if somebody had bought some smoked fish or jerky when my dad died.

        • pigpen51 says:

Just know, Karen, that you are also still in my prayers. My brother lost a child at age 21, and he still grieves almost 20 years later. It is better, but at times, it comes back, and, well, you know. You will forever be on my prayer list.

          Tim

  25. David Johnson says:

  28. Eric says:

Done! It’s the least I could do for all of the big smiles Angel gave me on her blog.

  29. B'Radical says:

It’s strange how we can become so attached to people we have never met or even wrote. I know the family is in deep pain and they don’t need the distraction of financial problems too. So very very sorry to hear this. Will send something.

For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”

Will forward (limited) funds tomorrow – sad news. It’s funny really, that while not knowing folks on a personal level via the internet, none the less it seems there are some closer than in local life. Sad news and God speed to these good folks – sad times. Strength and courage …….
    Worker (Lon Monroe)

  34. B says:

C-Note in the mail to you for forwarding. It’ll go out from Indiana tomorrow, so prolly in your box on Monday. I wish it were more, but I already helped 3 others this year. If she still needs more after the fundraiser tapers off, I can prolly do a bit more at the end of the month. Lemme know if it is still needed then, ok?

  35. Bobo the Hobo says:

Ken, when I get my SS check, I’ll send a check to you if you would kindly forward it. No one should have to bury their child.

Charles de Gaulle’s youngest daughter, Anne, was a Downs child. When she died from pneumonia, de Gaulle said, “Now, she’s like the others.” (“Maintenant, elle est comme les autres”)

Now Sarah is like the others.

May a merciful God grant Angel and her family peace.

  47. Brother Antony says:
