Former CIA director Brennan under investigation for perjury

Obama appointee and former CIA director John Brennan is the target of a perjury investigation by the House Intelligence Committee, according to an exclusive Real Clear Investigations report.

Chairman Devin Nunes is turning his attention to the role the CIA played in promoting the Steele dossier. The FBI and Justice Department relied heavily on the unverified dossier in their applications for a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign.

Brennan said under oath that he didn’t know who commissioned the document and that the dossier was not used to come to the conclusion that Russia had meddled in the 2016 presidential campaign.

Mr Nunes – don’t waste the time unless you intend on sending his lying ass to jail. Thank you.

Nothing will happen. IMHO, Brennan and Clapper should BOTH be sitting in a jail cell awaiting trial for perjury, which is the least of their crimes. Clapper famously boldfacedly lied to Congress when asked whether the CIA/NSA recorded information on American citizens without a warrant AND everyone in the room at the time KNEW he was lying. Clapper wasn’t even censured let alone charged with anything. Yet, the DOJ/FBI forced Gen Flynn to plead guilty to lieing to the FBI on flimsy evidence from the fruit of the poisoned tree warrant resulting from the FAKE Russian Dossier.

Nemo makes an interesting point. If the FBI can’t get you for an actual crime, they can still put you in prison for “lying to the FBI”, and there are a number of people who have been caught that way (note: it’s perfectly acceptable for the FBI to lie to you, per the Supreme Court).

However, if you’re a high enough government official, suddenly you fall under a different set of laws, and lying no longer has any penalty. It’s excused with a nudge & wink, or put another way, we’ve reestablished the Nobility & Peasants, although the Constitution forbids Nobility. There are a different set of laws applied to the Nobility (this is why Congressmen are excused from obeying the laws passed for us).

If your comment 'disappears', don't trip - it went to my trash folder and I will restore it when I moderate.
