Hey, just because you don’t mind paying 4 bucks a gallon…

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Reuters) – California will block the transportation through its state of petroleum from new offshore oil rigs, officials told Reuters on Wednesday, a move meant to hobble the Trump administration’s effort to vastly expand drilling in U.S. federal waters.

I wonder if they’ll accept the gasoline that was refined from that oil?

I suppose CA’s next move would to be to try to tax the crap out of any offshore petroleum that passed through the pipelines.

Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face…

The ‘quake that makes the west side of the fault line slide into the ocean just can’t come soon enough.I do hope those that are not brain dead have enough time to get out.

Just a hunch: you pray to unicorns too, right?

BTW, Science Tip: Nothing “slides into the ocean”. But in 6,000,000 years or so, L.A. will be seaward of Oakland, and Portland will be on an inland sea, behind a 400 mile long peninsula of Califrutopia. With Frisco at the tip.

Not that any of us will be around to see that.

Subduction is a slide. It’s just a really, really long, slow slide. But speed up the camera by a few million years…

i’m pretty sure that violates the interstate commerce clause of the usc. maybe it’ll kick off the states rights fight again and kali will secede.

    Another reason….:-(

This shit is what the Civil War was fought over. It wasn’t slavery, it was about states not following federal laws. My state is a mess, save us Trump.

So all california state policy will be decided based on how much it pisses off Trump?

Only if it’s used to run generators to charge electric cars.

  9. Elmo says:

This just in… The fools under the Golden Dome are going to use some of the VW emission cheating settlement money to buy electric busses to travel between downtown Sacramento and U.C. Davis.

And this is why dems/liberals/commies are winning the long game.

They push the limits all the time – usually into absurdity. But if “conservatives” can get them to make even a slight concession or compromise, guess what – the ball still gets moved up the field every play.

    Also, frogs in pots, etc.

  12. Aesop says:

California will be sued, prosecuted, and fined in federal court if it attempts that, and any official, down to beat cop, attempting to enforce it at that point be arrested by US Marshals, and will then get an orange jumpsuit with a handy federal BoP ID number stenciled on the front.

Any superior promulgating orders to interfere with the shipments will join them in ClubFed, probably on Terminal Island, where they can watch the tankers dock and unload that oil all day long, as a federal judge waits to decide when they’ve been punished for contempt of court long enough. Functionally, the sentence can be unlimited.

    Stupid, meet painful.

    Bring the stupid, @$$holes.
    I’ll get the popcorn.

If you want to see their heads explode, arrange the loads to be driven by illegal aliens; the state minions won’t know WTF to do.

I’d like to think that’s what will happen, but I’m more inclined to believe a Federal in Hawaii will say it’s perfectly okay-fine for CA to do this.
