Fuck ’em

All too often the American Left says disingenuously that no one truly wants to take all guns away from Americans.

But if a new Quinnipiac poll is even close to an accurate representation of Americans’ feelings, that statement is demonstrably false. The poll, released on Wednesday, found that fully one-third of Democrats favor repealing the Second Amendment, the right to bear arms.

It is always funny to me that the dems and leftists want to take our legal guns away and our legal tobacco away while wanting to make illegal drugs (that kill far more people and harm far more families than gun ‘violence’ (especially if you take away the gun ‘violence’ committed related to illegal (and legal) drugs)) legal.

During our (Florida) recent ‘medical marijuana (no, it’s not) push, I saw several pro-pot advocates yell at people sparking up the demon tobacco outside of places the potheads were collecting signatures at. Gee, try to legalize a product with questionable medical properties (see below for my take on it) while denigrating a product that actually has demonstrated medical properties (tobacco, really, some parts of it are actually good for you, and it used to be prescribed for nervousness, like up to the 60’s, seriously, quit laughing, nicotine is actually a somewhat good thing in small quantities, like all good poisons… really.)

These pot advocates are actually what threw me over the edge of being a quiet angry man in public to one who now actively engages the lefties in public to the point that my wife worries for our safety (because, as we all know, it isn’t the right-wingers who toss bricks at cars, or shoot people, or set fire to their stuff.) (I have compromised with wife, I only engage when she’s not there.)

    Okay, my rant on pot.

Yes, hemp is a wonderful fiber, very useful in a lot of applications, much better than sisal for ropes. Good sustainable resource, though getting hemp fibers from the plant is a bit of a bitch (right up there with getting linen fibers from flax.)

As to pot-pot. Well, the medicinal portion of pot, the CBDs, you know, the ones that settle the stomach and actually affect the blood pressure in a good way (glaucoma) is the very stuff that most ‘medical’ marijuana is not designed to release (and it really is only truly effective if ingested, not smoked.) THC, the stuff that gets you high, doesn’t settle the stomach, makes you paranoid, fucks up your thought processes, subdues the sleep center which keeps you from really deep sleep (dream sleep) and fucks your blood pressure royally putting undue stress upon the heart. And smoking pot puts more carcinogenic crap in your body than an equivalent amount of smoked tobacco. To those who say there hasn’t been enough research, well, they’ve actually been doing the research since the ’60s and the results keep coming up the same, even in ‘pro-pot’ research (but the pro-pot people keep yammering that ‘there’s not enough research’… yeah, no, shut up.)

    So, pot-pot not so good.

CBDs, which Marinol is a synthetic form of, are actually good for you, if nothing else works. (My wife’s pain doc says he will only prescribe CBDs or Marinol to patients who have such severe pain that their stomach and digestive tract are fucked up from pain, and he also says so far, none of the patients who he’s offered the CBDs (or Marinol) to have taken up the offer.

Rant off. You may now throw things at me. I’m used to it.

What fucking business is it of yours if someone wants to ingest a substance? Statists got be tryannical, both those on the left and the right.

Yeah, fine ingest what you want. Just don’t do it around me and then criticize me because I want no part of it. And if I see you token and driving, I WILL call the lawdogs on your ass.
