Had this happen once, without the boogeyman thing. Scared the shit outta me, thought I had a stroke in my sleep.

I used to have this shit happen to me once or twice a night every week of my 20s. Happened two nights ago out of the blue. Friggin hate the shit

I’ve had that enough to Recognize what is Happening – Your Brain disconnects the “Motor Control”
Nerve Circuits while You Sleep, probably to Relax the Muscles. When You start to Wake Up (or just before) Your Brain commands Movement but there is No Feedback from the Muscles. Weird as Hel, until You Awaken far enough to ‘Override’ the ‘Disconnect’.
Never had it Happen when Asleep and Dreaming, but THAT would be Creepy.

Was living in rural south Louisiana, and staying with the girlfriend at her place, 8 acres of old Indian territory (Carencro Indians). Sitting out around 2 am- couldn’t sleep-in she comes out freaked- says she woke up, an couldn’t move- then something “walked up her body”. She was THOROUGHLY freaked.

I consoled her as best I could, and went back to bed with her. Her body wasn’t paralyzed after all.

The next night, I was there, and she was at work.
I was asleep in that same bed, when my eyes just popped open. Something was in the room with me, and it wasn’t nice. I went to get up, and COULD NOT MOVE.

Then the waddling started. On my knees, was a pressure, like a medium sized dog was sitting there. Then, it “waddled” up my body-like a misshapen duck from Hell, you might say. When it got to my chest, I started the Our Father- cause now I couldn’t breathe.

And, as quick as it started- it ended. Didn’t sleep much that night.

I’ve read the reports on sleep paralysis- that’s all well and good.

But, there are haints in this world.(I’ve run into them more than once. ) And two people in two nights, in the same bed?

I think we try to explain things that can’t be explained, to console ourselves when the closet door pops open at night…

The old Norse had stories about ‘sendings,’ being ghosts or other not nice spirits, that hold you down and crush your chest until you die.

Sendings can take form of a flayed bull, or a cat, or an old dead person from your family.

Researchers have poo-pooed these stories of sendings, holding down the victims, for years. Sounds like there could be actual scientific proof of what the sendings could actually be.

Or it could be bloody ghosts. It is the old Norse, after all.

Have had this happen many times. Scares the shit out of me everytime. If it happens to me tonight I’m really gonna be pissed that you brought it up. It is literally my worst nightmare ever!

I just hope I’m being attacked by giant boobs, like Luis. Please be boobs, please.
