Nice try, but you forgot about the body cam

A woman in Texas made a startling claim earlier this week accusing a state trooper of raping her during a DWI arrest, but a newly released body camera footage has exposed her claims as lies and prompted her high-profile lawyer to issue a public apology.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said in a statement on Tuesday that just after 1.30am on Sunday, Texas highway Patrol Trooper Daniel Hubbard saw a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu traveling south on Interstate 35 in Ellis County and pulled the vehicle over for a traffic violation.

Well this is at least the third video released this past week of one of the protected classes lying. It’s funny how these don’t make the national news but a 60 IQ basketball player thinking he is special parking in handicaped spaces then acting typical does. With cries of racist and even the mayor joining in does. What an ass backwards world this has become.

I for one am completely shocked by this. Not the accusation mind you, the lawyer
apologizing and at least giving lip service to taking responsibility.

I thought that was pretty decent of him too.
I gotta tell you, people talk a lot of shit about lawyers but every one I ever dealt with was a straight shooter.

Geez, is this the fake-black dude? That’s what they call “an adverse predictor” right there.

I think the lawyer is just being smart and cutting his losses rather than riding this flaming wreck of a case into the ground. From his bio page at his law firm’s site:

      S. Lee Merritt, Esq. is a social justice activist and attorney […] a Cum Laude graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended law school in Philadelphia, PA at Temple University […] He began his legal career as an associate of the Cochran Firm before going into private practice.

Attorney Merritt leads a high profile practice […] including […] corporate discrimination cases, viral police brutality matters and several cases associated with the Black Lives Matter Movement.

[…] His commitment to social justice is born out of his own experiences and inner city upbringing. Merritt is committed to the reform of the justice system in America and is using his practice to effect lasting change for underserved and underrepresented communities.

Maybe he’s a good guy, maybe not. That last paragraph is particularly concerning because it sounds like the usual grievance industry code for something else. But I am glad he did the right thing here.

Hope he did her before he dumped her.

She needs to be prosecuted for felony making a false statement to police. Not just because he was a LEO but because she degrades the credibility of the next woman who really is raped.

Only ” because she degrades the credibility of the next woman who really is raped.”

Fuck the LEOs. Magic costumed pigs of all types are allowed to lie to “citizens”. Martha Stewart did not go to jail for insider trading – she went to jail for lying to the FBI.
