California to outlaw in 3… 2… 1…

It turns out, Elon Musk’s flamethrower idea was not a joke as Musk’s Boring Co. delivers first 1,000 flamethrowers to customers.

Six months after Elon Musk raised the eyebrows of sane people everywhere by announcing his Boring Co. would sell flamethrowers for $500 a pop, the first 1,000 deliveries were made Saturday for customers who showed up at the company’s headquarters in Hawthorne, Calif.

A lighter and a can of hairspray is more a flamethrower than that turkey. What makes it hilarious is that people paid $500 for that.

When I was at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, we used to hunt cockroaches at night with a can of Right Guard and a lighter. Lucky we didn’t burn those WWII vintage barracks down with our shenanigans.

Yep, but if they don’t make any more just wait and see what those stupid weed burners go for in five years.

      • rick says:

Sure, I can see it now. The Antique Roadshow of the future will feature Apple 5G phones and these ‘flame throwers’ and such.

But think what a real flame thrower could fetch. Say, a custom one off ‘steam punk’ flame thrower instead of some limp dick super soaker.

Two things that are a tip off for weird; Hawthorn, and California. Flame throwers? Don’t they light their own farts anymore?

  3. Andrew says:

Actually, our ‘betters’ in Congress, specifically the ‘House’ have already introduced a House bill banning al devices that ‘Ignite and then throw a flame 10′ or more.’ Get that? Ignite then throw?

Yay. They are trying to ban Molotov cocktails.

But there’s little chance of it going through, hopefully.

$500? That’s crazy…buy a weed burner at Harbor Freight for $25 and hook it to a tank of LP and you’re in biz!

Do what my dad did. Fill the pump bug sprayer with kerosene, spray a little to wet the tip, voila, flame thrower! He used it to kill patches of grass in our gravel driveway.
