Chimp-out at Miami Home Depot

OKEECHOBEE (CBSMiami) – When shopping at a Home Depot you can end up leaving with just about anything.
One thing that nobody expects to leave with are monkey bites.
Last weekend in Okeechobee, a woman decided to bring her pet spider monkey along for a trip to Home Depot.

Home Depot has axes and hatchets and such, right?

Clean up monkey head in aisle six.

I already knew to leave monkeys alone, but now I know there is a Home Depot in okeechobee. We are going to “ winter” in Florida next year since we are Michiganders of a certain age.

The only good monkey is either, one left alone, or a dead one.

I vote for the dead one! Don’t think in a moment of pissed off I’d need a tool I’d just rip its head off! Then turn my attention to its owner!

Sorry but self defense rules here… by any means necessary. BTW, I knew chimps sport strength averaging 4x a man’s. I read one anecdote about one flipping a manual typewriter across a room with one finger. What I didn’t know is spider monkeys are quite strong also, not to mention incredibly fast. I hope I’d have enough sense to put as much distance as possible between me and such a situation, with one hand ready to draw. All braggadocio and heroics aside, I suggest this is the mindset to have in unusual and potentially dangerous situations.
