Sorry ’bout that

The final moments of a YouTuber’s life before he was shot dead by his girlfriend in an ill-advised stunt have been revealed.

Prosecutors in Norman County, Minnesota on Friday released video and transcripts from the fateful final video of Pedro Ruiz, 22, and his then-pregnant girlfriend Monalisa Perez, 20.

‘I can’t do it, babe. I’m so scared,’ Perez told her boyfriend in the transcript from the June 2017 video, as she wielded a .50-caliber Desert Eagle – one of the most powerful handguns in the world.

‘As long as you hit the book, you’ll be fine. Come on,’ Ruiz responded, holding a hardcover encyclopedia to his chest.

He bought the pimp version. I saw one of those at a gun show in virginia. It was unsellable for over a year.

    Damn! And they already bred.

  3. Bill Weapner says:

A Manhattan telephone book of years past (5 inches thick) would stop a .22 LR stinger with about an inch to spare. A .50 Desert Eagle would probably go through 3 of them. A 30-06 FMJ shot out of a Garrand will go about 20 inches into a seasoned oak log cross-grain.

I also heard he was a convicted felon. Why did he have the weapon?

    Unbelievable stupidity. Idiocracy TV material.

    Idiots.

If I remember correctly they “tested” the stunt with a different book and it worked. Then he switched to the new book with hardcover as extra protection. The trouble is, (as 21 year olds often forget) the two different books had wildly different page thickness and density. The new book was half as dense despite being bigger with hard covers. Maybe had they read the books instead of shooting at them they would have known a little about physics.

“You gotta ask yourself, ‘do I feel lucky?’ Well do ya dumbass?” Oops…
