High Speed Justice

YORK – Many York County defense lawyers are claiming that the county grand jury in June did not properly review more than 900 cases presented in a single day and want every indictment issued that month tossed.

    900+ in a day, it sure does sound like a rubber stamping process.

    That’s less than a minute on each case ( probably about 30 seconds in an eight hour day with breaks for smokes and Cokes). How could anyone believe this is right and fair?

        The saying is that even a bad prosecutor could get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich.

        Basically it takes no real suspicion or evidence to get most grand juries to indict.

        Which is why most grand jury rulings are highly suspect to begin with.
