$2.59 a gallon here

The national gas price average increased three-cents on the week to $2.91. All but seven states are paying more on the week. Today’s national gas price average is six-cents more than a month ago and 41-cents more than a year ago.

“The September switch-over to winter-blend gasoline ushered in cheaper gas prices compared to the summer, but that drop was short lived,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson. “Crude oil accounts for half of the retail pump price and crude is selling at some of the highest price points in four years. That means fall and year-end prices are going to be unseasonably expensive.”

Cheapest gas paying cash around here (Inland Empire, CA) is around $3.48. We have a prop on the ballot to roll back the .17 per gal tax they laid on us last year for road improvements. Me & the Mrs. are voting for it; let them use the funding for pampering the illegals to pave our fucking roads. And boy do they need it!

  3. IslandGirl says:

Holy crap! $3.79/gal here, but we use diesel, which is $4.79 in Hawaii.

  4. Michael in Nelson says:

And in most of New Zealand they are $2.489 a litre (about a quart).

  5. Laura says:

Aw, Diddums! I paid US$4.03 a gallon for diesel this morning here in southeast Queensland. (A$1.579 a litre) We drove to Brisbane where premium petrol was A$1.989 a litre (US$5.08 a gallon).

Todays happy thought from the UK…..
Diesel fuel here today (North Wales, UK) is $1.72/litre or $6.88/USgallon.
So my 66litre (16.5 USgal) tank takes c.$117.00 to fill from near empty……..

On a totally unrelated subject, it’s a good idea to introduce all Socialists to the concept of High Velocity………..

    Happy Days…..

Let’s not forget that apples to apples comparisons are often not possible, given the relentless raising of taxes by government entities. My state took advantage of lower prices to raise the per gallon taxes.

  8. Nemo says:

    $2.74 – $2.95 here, average ~$2.80 for regular.

More manipulation of an item I once paid 24 cents for + I got S&H Green stamps, a free dinner plate for each fill up and in NJ the pump jockey checked the battery levels, tire pressure and cleaned the front windshield without being asked.

  10. RonM says:

Average in Sacramento is $3.70, with some places I’ve seen as high as $3.85. Costco is the cheapest at $3.23… Guess I’m going to Costco tomorrow!

  11. enn ess says:

But guys, you forget, higher prices reflect the growing scarcity of petroleum products, that are increasingly used to produce everything from plastic car parts to fertilizer. And the most important thing to remember, when the polls open, is that by increasing taxes on carbon producers, IE: everyone that produces products from petroleum products, it will cure the climate /global warming situation. So remember, we can cure the climate change problem with a tax policy….. yeah – riiiiiiiight…. So hows this work again?

They’re taking a shotgun approach here in Washington State. The tax and spenders want an income tax, grocery tax on top of an existing sales tax. sugar drink tax, more gasoline taxes, levies for education and now they want toll roads if you drive in Seattle.

  12. Henk says:

South Africa we are at $4.29/gal (ZAR17/liter)…
