Landlord Tells Harvard Student to Move Out Over Legally Owned Guns

A Massachusetts landlord told a Harvard University graduate student that he wanted her to move out of her apartment because her legally owned firearms made some of her roommates uncomfortable.

“Since it’s clear that Leyla wants to keep her firearms, it would be best for all parties if she finds another place to live,” Dave Lewis, president of Avid Management, said in an email to the household obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

That’s what happens when you live with a bunch of wussy snowflakes.

One roommate said the presence of firearms “deprives us of the quiet enjoyment of the premise to which we are entitled.”

Only if she’s shooting them in her room.

Don’t know who holds the lease, but it sounds like Lewis, the landlord, is renting to each individual. If that’s the case and the other tenants move out, that’s his loss. As long as Leyla is abiding with her rent contract and not breaking the law, Lewis can pound sand. And the audacity of the snowflakes to search her room! That’s trespassing and the pukes should be charged.

One roommate said the presence of firearms “deprives us of the quiet enjoyment of the premise to which we are entitled.” Hmm. Sounds like that roommate has been talking to an attorney.

Any attorney would probably enlighten them about the 2nd Amendment. I think the gun owner definitely has a case, especially since they trespassed into her room. It’s not like this woman was advertising her gun ownership or menacing them. This is NOT legal advice.

If the other roommates move out, this poor girl has to pay their rent? How does the scumbag landlord figure that? It seems like this has already been litigated. Pretty sure a landlord can’t change the terms of the lease here. I’m all for a GoFundMe for this girl’s legal fees.

Why is this beautiful, bright, southern young lady going to school in Commie Masshole chusettes?

  7. Paulie says:

The landlord has no leg to stand on and has opened himself up to some damages. The roommates could be in deep shit if that young lady chooses to pursue some legal action against them. And along with having more than our share of liberal snowflakes, we also have plenty of slimy attorneys that are likely lining up outside her door to offer their “services”. What a stupid clusterfuck.

  8. JNorth says:

Ya, as a landlord, if someone complains that their roommate has guns that just tells me that they need to go. I should probably put that in the contract “must own guns”.

  9. CC says:

So gun owners are the “new race” that it’s OK to discriminate against?

JNorth; it works well for Kennesaw, GA…

Play nice.
