Tennessee, baby!

Checking the election results at 8PM, Bill Lee is ahead in the governor’s race at a whopping 69.29% of the votes with 8 percent of the precincts reporting.
Marsha Blackburn is slacking, with her having only 61.96% of the votes in her race with Bredesen.
Tennessee’s so damned red it ain’t funny. It sure is a welcome change from California.

My old home state makes me proud. Glad you made the journey.

  2. Sarthurk says:

Us good old boys in Oregon cheer your apparent success. Please pray for us here.

  3. Elmo says:

    Good news, Friend!

  4. Steve_in_CA says:

Tennis knee gave us Al Gore.

    • Wirecutter says:

Yup, couldn’t wait to get rid of him.

      • Winston Smith says:

You weren’t here, but spacehead jr was the product of the old Southern Democrats that his daddy was a lynchpin. Used to be, Southern Dems were redneck conservatives. Then LBJ et al realized that they had a built in voting block in blacks and white trash if you promised them enough. That’s when the Republicans began to take control down here. Jr was the last remnant of their power/connections and a bland enough personality to run as a VP. That’s all he ever was. Rich kid that had everything handed to him all his life.

      • Elmo says:

Doesn’t he still have his place outside of Carthage?

        • Wirecutter says:

That I don’t know. I doubt it, I don’t think Carthage is really all that proud of him. The only mention of him I’ve ever seen was a sign right when you get into town proclaiming it to be the home of Al Gore, Nobel Peace Prize winner.

    • crazyeighter says:

We also kept him from being President.

  5. MadMarlin says:

Whew. Just saw Cruz held on to his seat here in TX. I just hope the count is correct as Iā€™d hate to wake up to that horse face big toothed communist in office.

  6. OldNFO says:

    Glad to hear it!

  7. The Deplorable WS says:

Taylor ALWAYS had bad luck picking men

Luckily down here in Floriduh we didn’t get stuck with a full-blown steyer/soros funded socialist for governor & got to send nelson packing.

    Waa Hoo

  8. warhorse says:

in NH, we’re fucked. we kept the governor, but other than that…

the republican party just rolled over and didn’t give anyone any assistance. it’s like they wanted to lose.

  9. Tree Mike says:

We moved to Tennessee in Jan. 2015 from The Peoples Rrrrepublic of Collyfornia.
We vote now because it counts! Land of the free! Always was a redneck, now a hllbilly in training. From middle western Tennessee where Nathanial Bedford Forrest kicked ass! Tree Mike

    • Wirecutter says:

Whereabouts in California? I came from Stanislaus County about 2 1/2 years ago.
It is nice going to a polling place knowing your vote actually counts, isn’t it?

      • Tree Mike says:

Hey Ken, it is great living where your vote count.
We lived in the San Diego East County, Jamul (humool) area 2000 elev. hills. Loved the area, it was very country minded and conservative but you just couldn’t escape the State crap. I miss my trapped friends, Mexican hole-in-the-wall eateries, and Craigslist, not much else.
I also check you first whenever I sit down at the computer, your’e real, keep it up. I’ll email you after consulting with my CFO (wife) about getting you some bucks, you need it even more now that you’ve adopted another mouth to feed, most worthy of you. Later, Geezer Tree Mike

        • Wirecutter says:

Yeah, there’s a few things I miss about California – the Sierras, all that BLM land to do what I want on, and a taco truck every time you turn around. Other than that, not much else.
          Congratulations on your escape.

Talk about an extra mouth to feed – I had 2 dogs before, but when I picked this one up my food bill more than doubled. He’s like a bottomless pit.

My Governor’s race went properly, 53/42 and Don stayed in the House but that was closer then it should have been (54/45) his staff needs to remind him to actually campaign. I’m still concerned with my State Senate race, with 100% reporting we are only winning by 11 votes, better not see someone find a box of votes in the back of their car.

  11. Andy says:

Congratulations on dumping the dick head. We kept Ted Cruz, thank god, but the House is lost. I swear to God, if a republican starts whining about losing I am going off on their sorry asses. It is no one’s fault but theirs for not doing as we asked them to do since they had control. Led by the weak ass Paul Ryan now we have to deal with the idiot and resident looney tune, Nancy Pelosi. Thanks republicans, you had your shot and you blew it…you sorry asses.

  12. nonncom says:

It’s funny if you think about it that the little teen idol female singer thought she’d have any effect….

  13. Henry Lee says:

We moved back to Georgia after a few years in Maryville, my wife’s hometown I loved it there but we moved to the Athens, Ga area to be close to our son and his family. I’m sick at what’s happening to my Georgia. If Abrams can’t find enough votes in Atlanta to push her over this time, it’ll happen next time. It’s not the Georgia or especially the Atlanta I grew up in.

  14. Elmo says:

“It sure is a welcome change from California.”

I just checked California congressional election results. Most of the lunatic Democrats won reelection with 70 to 80% of the vote. Pelosi won with 88.5%.
Californians also voted to keep their gas taxes high and to continue the increased vehicle registration fees.

  15. Scruff says:

we are fucked up here in Maine. The blue wave won the day and now I;m thinking the wife and I need a new state. We were going to move into the mountains around moose head lake, that’s where I have three generations of family history. My mom’s brother moved to Tennessee 40 years ago, looks like he got it right. Y’all got room for a northern hillbilly and his wife? I hate cutting and running but I can’t take this shit much longer.

    • Winston Smith says:

Hell yeah, youre more than welcome. We understand that good people can be born anywhere but the smart ones gtfo.
Cumberland plateau for some elevation or along the spine of the Appys for stronger terrain. Nice flat forests between Nashville and Memphis if you are so inclined.

  16. JC says:

I got me a new Rep in the House. Ted Poe was a Rino cunt, but NOW I got Dan Crenshaw, porno assassin pirate guy with the eyepatch. Lord willing, there will be serious asses kicked. I’m here doing the Snoopy Happy Dance (well, as much as I can with 1.5 feet) And I Ted Fuckin’ Cruz, too. Over half the yards in my neighborhood had Beta signs. i called the precinct for Cruz, and I was right. Folks asked me why, when there were so many Beta signs. I explained that a Cruz sign was tantamount to posting ‘Slash My Tires’. Saw it happen.
