Half Mountain Cur and half Blue Heeler, about 10-12 weeks old. He’ll be helping Wisco kill RACcoons in no time at all.

I had to look up Mountain Cur, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_Cur, sounds like a great partner!

  2. warhorse says:

what a cutie! what’s his name Wisco? please don’t say “bandit”….

    • WiscoDave says:

Trying to talk the wife into “Rebel.” He was brought up from Alabama by a rescue.

  3. ThinkingOutLoud says:

    Congratulations to all!

  4. Terri says:

    So cute!!!

  5. Dan Patterson says:

    Best buddy
    Interesting markings; looks Rottweiler-ish.
    Pet them doggies.

    • WiscoDave says:

No Rottie. “Purebred” mix of Mt Feist and Blue Heeler. People had two purebreds and it never occurred to them they could/would mate.

      • Elmo says:

The smartest dog I’ll ever own was the product of a Kelpie sire who jumped a fence to romance a Border Collie dam.
Scary smart. I’ll bet your pup will be too.

  6. kevinH says:

I have a Blue Heeler, named Stella Blue, smartest damn dog I ever had or met…hope you are up to it, because they can be a challenge, but so worth it.

  7. Sunny says:

Now that is a Good Morning!
He is so cute. And Rebel is a good name for him.
    Congratulations.

  8. tallow pot says:

Handsome fellow, this calls for a toast. Where’s the Rebel Yell?

  9. jack says:

Good looking dog. I hope he works well in the anti-Racoon department. If not, you at least have a good looking buddy.

  10. enn ess says:

Dang, that pup grows into those ears he’s gonna be a big-un

  11. Stretch says:

Dear Lord! Those EARS! Gonna be a fair sized dog.
Neighbor has a German Shepard/Border Collie mix. I said to the owner “Bet he’s the smart one of he team.” And the DOG nodded.

    • Elmo says:

For 50 years, my advice to friends has always been “Never have a dog that’s smarter than you are”. In that time, my dogs have all had some measure of stock dog blood.

I obviously never listen to my own advice.

      • warhorse says:

I always get golden retrievers. they’re smart and dumb at the same time.

I’m sure padawan will chime in about how that fits the owner or something.

  12. Lofty says:

Handsome fella, what size will he grow to?
Looks like he might be a biggun.

  13. Carol Baker says:

He is so cute!! We have two heelers Bodie and Bailey – my husband is from Wisconsin, he would like to know what part of Wisconsin you are from..
Those dogs need lots of exercise!!

  14. front toward enemy says:

Those rescue people will say anything. Do a DNA test on that dog and I’ll bet you find about 50% Corgi in there. Not that there is anything at all wrong with that.
