It’s called good training, Mom

After an armed man entered a Popeye’s restaurant in San Antonio last month and reportedly pointed a gun at a customer’s children, that customer — a licensed concealed carrier — shot the gunman dead.

But now the mother of the deceased 19-year-old gunman is asking why the father who fatally shot her son chose to fire more than once.

“Why did he shoot five times?”

Goes like this: Fire, ride the recoil; reacquire and reset “yep, he’s still filling my sight picture so he’s still a threat”; fire, ride the recoil… you all can see where I’m going here.

Mom needs to watch Zombieland -“double tap”

  3. BadFrog says:

Shoot until the threat ceases to be a threat. BTW, the mother should have practiced contraception.

  4. grayman says:

Keep on shootin till the body stops movin

Momma’s in DEEP trouble if Junior got the gun from her…The perp had a history of mental illness and off his meds and shouldn’t have had access to a gun in the first place.

Shooter did us all a Public Service retiring that little parasite before he wasted thousands upon thousands of dollars in support.

What? A mentally unstable and should have been flagged in NCIS person got his gun from his mom? Just like the Parkland Shooter?

And you expect her (either mom) to get prosecuted for doing something illegal?

Yea it ain’t like they wear signs around their neck is it. Maybe he shoulda ask Boy is that pistol loaded and by the way you ain’t a crazy fellow are ya?

  6. Tim in AK says:

“Why did he shoot him five times?”

Because his gun didn’t hold six rounds?

  7. bob says:

I just love a story with a happy ending. I’ve always been a romantic. Did he bleed everywhere, kick a little, squeal like a pig, maybe even cry? My hearts a racin here like it’s the St. Valentines Day massacre deja vu all over again.

That man did what he needed to do to protect his family. This was the least worst outcome from this fact pattern. The accomplice liability rule in Texas means that the wheel man is probably going to face felony murder for the death of his buddy. He was part and parcel of it, so he (very likely) gets to go for that ride.
There was a case in Houston, the single mother was convicted under accomplice liability in the death of her child when her “boyfriend” beat the child and the child died. She is serving 50 years, she did nothing to help her child when she had a duty to.
That mother, though. Her life is a wreck, I have no need to heap ashes on her head. Life is enough of a trial for her.
I do like Popeye’s chicken, though.

A better question would be to ask the mom why her idiot child brought an empty gun to a gunfight that HE started

  12. Milo Mindbender says:

Armors motto is keep shooting until the target catches fire or changes shape, he didnt do either.

    Engage untill friggin destroyed!

  14. Antibubba says:

The father did everything right, including giving the perp the chance to back out before it turned deadly.

  15. Daryl says:

Bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Something tells me mom might mostly be upset because that was her meal ticket.

  16. rayvet says:

The way mom’s comments read, it sounds like the kid inherited the whackadoodle from her. I’d say she needs a serious investigation and possibly committal to a facility. She could be the next mass shooter.

  17. The Jannie says:

    He’s missing life even more now . . .

  18. Differ says:

Irritating that the press gives airtime to the perp’s parent; it seems they’re pushing anti-gun narrative. However, Huntsville night club security gal did get her side on the news, so they may have tried to interview the CCW dad and he likely declined- sensibly.

  19. CC says:

Just once I’d like to hear the news interview the other patrons and staff saying how scared they were and how glad they were the shooter took the nutcase out.

    • crazyeighter says:

If it ever does happen and the “news” team is from CNN, it’ll never be aired.

  20. kansasredneck says:

To misquote Peter Hathaway Capstick, if it’s a threat, i can never be too dead.

    Mom says “hedidndonuffin”.
