    Had to take quite a long look at that photo, to figure out what in the world your title meant….that shit happens all the time in the tropics. It’s not at all uncommon to see large trees growning out of fence posts, telephone pole tops, and even seedlings on gutters on rooftops. Hell, I’ve got a seedling starting to take root in a track of a window that faces the weather but doesn’t get open very often.

    I went to a corporate meeting at the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley. They have some pretty tall palm trees. There was a blackberry vine trailing down fron the crown of one of them.

    I’ve seen pine saplings growing out of gutters here in SC.
