Remember the story in Grapes of Wrath where Tom Joad replaced a connecting rod and piston alongside the road?

      • brighteyes says:

Indeed, Steinbeck, powerful reads. Of Mice and Men, Cannery Row, East of Eden. And of course Grapes of Wrath, off the charts. Good stuff.

About every fifteen years or so I do a Steinbeck marathon. Been about ten years since the last one but the memory is going and maybe it’s time to shorten the duration. So, with all these titles I think it’s time to do it again.

And compressed the rings with some brass wire that would wear out as the piston moved. Talk about keeping things simple.

  8. Buzz D. says:

The rodeo picture was a classic. That is what happens when one cinches a horse’s nuts.
The chick on the motorbike got what was coming to her.

  9. Tom in NC says:

from the house and bucket in the background, looks like the bike was just washed and the guy thought it would improve his chances if he let her take it for a ride around the parking lot. Wonder how that worked out for him?
