And to think I used to like this guy

With the strong recent push for “red flag” laws, also known as ERPO (Extreme Risk Protection Orders), there has been much concern that the hasty legislation is so poorly written that it will lend itself to abuse by people with agendas harassing innocent victims. Here’s one such take on the issue.

Yes, I realize that he’s an ex cop. I’ve been reading his shit since the early to mid 1980s and while he had a lot of great advice as far as gunfighting goes, he’s still a cop at heart.

    “Don’t resist!”

Excuse me? But when government goons are pouring through your door, tearing your house apart, shooting your dogs, holding you prisoner in your own home while looking for your only means to resist, AKA, YOUR GUNS, You already passed the point of resisting tyranny. You have become a slave in your own lands and no amount of courts are going to stop this shit or get your property back. Much less undo the violations and crimes done to you and your home at the hands of the state!

Either have two houses, a small public front and live somewhere else. or fight back. It only takes a hand full of incidents before this asshattery stops.

  2. Gordon says:

I used to enjoy the magazine he wrote that in, “Backwoods Home”. Got a couple of Constitution loving folds that write for them, too. Ayoob will be like so many other cops- “Just following orders, please don’t slip getting into the showers.”

  3. Andy says:

    He’s welcome to his opinion.

  4. Mark says:

Well if you resist the search team you ARE gonna get killed.

What do you want to do?

Die in your house playing defense?

Or live to play offense and take some with you? Preferably the Politicians that sent the confiscators.

    Disperse and cache your shit.

    • warhorse says:

you won’t even know it’s a search team. your front door will come off the hinges at 3AM. every member of the search team will shout something different. they may shout police but how can you tell from all the other noise? they’ll shine a flashlight in your face, still shouting the same gaggle of contradictory orders, you’ll reach for the gun on your nightstand…and you’ll be dead. that’s how the anti-gunners want this to work.

there are assassination orders. there really will be no attempt to arrest you. you will die.

big gun confiscations are out. so they are using small ones…drip…drip..drip…one of us at a time. until there are none left. they understand it will take a while. but they have time. they think in generations, and always have.

    • Macumazahn says:

      ^^ What he said. ^^

  5. Rowland says:

You know, next he’ll be advocating getting on the bus or in the train car and sorting it out via the courts at the re-education camps.

  6. 1chota says:

he was a wannabe cop. got one of those reserve cop titles. never did care much for him.

    • taminator013 says:

I’m with you. Never cared for the guy way back when and still don’t. I always thought that he was a self important, self righteous asshole………..

  7. FaCubeItches says:

Yes, never resist when the police are at your door. Things will always work out for the best if you just comply peacefully.

Mas knows a lot about legal aspects of guns and such. What he is missing is the public sentiment that is flooding this nation right now. Donald Trump was not anything except a symptom. A symptom of the anger and disgust of the rank and file patriots in America who are no longer going to stand by and allow politicians to hold hands across the aisle and in doing so, make deals that put their hands in the pockets of all Americans who have a dollar, and give it away to those who don’t want to have to work for that dollar.
I worked since I was 11 years old, spending 35 plus years in a foundry, until my body was worn out from a combination of things. I ended up on disability, and people now ask if I am now feeling completely well. Idiots, If I felt completely well, I would still be working making close to 6 figures pouring steel, 12 hours a day, sometimes 7 days a week.
The working class has been screwed for years and now that Trump has put them back to work, the leftists have decided that they want to make us into a socialist country, so that working 12 hours a day to earn more money is just going to be taxed higher to give more to those who don’t want to work.
I sometimes wonder if the second civil war really has not already started. We will know for sure depending on what the Democrats do to President Trump.

  9. Kaptain Kaos says:

There’s no point in arguing anymore. The lawless are the wardens and the Leo’s are their minions. You’ll all know exactly what to do when the situation arises. I understand the live to fight another day attitude but they may be loading you onto a railcar a few minutes after they take your guns away.

  10. CC says:

So he’s changed his name to massive boob?

  11. warhorse says:

made two comments on that page, both deleted. just so we know where they stand….

    • soapweed says:

Thanks, seemed like they sold out years ago….. prior to that, used to dole out subscriptions to young ‘uns who tottered on the brink of smelling freedom and doing for themselves vs the gov sheep teat.

  12. crazyeighter says:

In an article several years ago, he used the phrase “the privilege of keeping and bearing arms”. That’s the last words of his I read.

  13. 15Fixers says:

And a great big “FUC* **U and the horse you rode in on!!!!” St Augustine said “An unjust law is no law at all.” All of Hitler and Mussolini’s gun confiscations were ‘laws’ too…. so just F OFF with that “co-operate” BS. The British garrison in Boston, circa 1775, “required” everyone who owned a firearm of any sort to store it at the British Army arsenal for ‘safe keeping.’ The Brits tried to calm fears by saying that anyone could come get their firearms when they went hunting. Lied. Once the Brits had them under lock and key, NO ONE ever got them back. Figure maybe that had a big part in Paul Revere’s ride and the Minutemen assembled at Lexington and Concord??? Anyone that says “Go along and let the courts settle it” just got put on the ‘undesirables list’ forever. MOLON LABE moth*******rs!!!!

  14. Macumazahn says:

Really, guys? You’re ready to kill and die over this? Think about it – you won’t be ready, but they will be.
I’m with Ayoob – comply now, litigate later. If you want to make a lethal argument, do it on your own terms – not when law enforcement is at your door locked and loaded.

    • the other other Andrew says:

And get back what exactly? Any seized weapons not involving an active criminal case (assault, homicide etc) will be destroyed. And you’ll get maybe 10 cents on the dollar value for the gun.

This is especially onerous in relation to antique or specialty firearms. Like that .30-40 Krag-Jorgensen, or that nice Springfield Trapdoor. Maybe a working Martini-Henry. Or even a Carcano carbine or an M1 Garand or Carbine.

These ‘laws’ are the death of this country.

As to what happens if cops break into your house? Assume you’re dead and work up from there. Whether they are there accidentally or legally, you’re fucked if they’re SWATing your ass.

      • Wirecutter says:

Value of firearms and what they’d give you for them….. I do not own a single firearm that is factory original other than my father’s Savage 99E. Some of them only have small modifications, but others? I use the stock gun as a base and work up from there. I’ve got an AR with over a thousand bucks invested in it and I don’t think I’m unique in that respect.
Oh and my father’s 99E? Priceless. You could offer me $100,000 for it and I’d turn you down.

    • Wirecutter says:

Except if you wait, you won’t have any terms.
Fuck that. Am I willing to die over somebody trying to deprive me of my Rights? Yes – me and every damned soldier that died in the Revolutionary War.

      • Sanders says:

I will not live on my knees.

      • Macumazahn says:

Perhaps I should have used the word “prepared” instead of “ready”.
I, too, would be willing to die to protect the rights secured for my by the blood and sacrifices of those who came before. I just want to make sure that I sell my life as dearly as possible, and that’s not gonna happen if I take on the cops at my door. Sure, maybe I’d get one or two LEOs who might not have wanted to be there at in the first place – but that’d be the end for me, while giving the enemy a propaganda victory. “See, we told you he was dangerous!”
I respectfully disagree. They’ll never find everything I have cached, and after the raid they’ll never know where my attack will come from.
I’ve heard it said that a hundred well-placed bullets could yet save America. Start this kind of shit with me and I might well decide to see how high I can run up the score, starting with the high-value targets…

        • Wirecutter says:

I’m in a little better position than most folks as far as cops kicking in my door and surprising me. I live about 5 miles outside of a small town and my house sets back about 50 yards or so from the road. I’ve also got 2 very territorial dogs, one in and one out, that will give warning and slow them down.
I’d also be willing to bet the farm that our sheriff will not have a thing to do with confiscating guns – not only is he a local boy, but his staff is too. Repercussions would be swift and final if he did take part or assist.

        • Lineman says:

Would you sell your life if it was MS13 at the door because if they are coming for your guns then they are just another gang…

      • John h says:

Count the number of comments on his article that said in essence I’ll die at my front door and then count the number of total comments, that will give you your 3% and I suppose you could probably do the same with the comments on this post. Not scientific and a few could be keyboard commando talk but i wouldnt discount it if i was Leo and had to go to work that nite. Ymmv

        • FaCubeItches says:

Except door to door gun grabs were already conducted – New Orleans, during Katrina. Don’t recall many of the grab teams getting lit up, or any, for that matter. Thus, based on actual real-world experience, the “pile of empty brass” brigade totals zero members.

    • Lineman says:

Shaking my head once again at the worthlessness of people…So like I’ve said before if they are coming for your guns that means they think less of you than dogshit and will probably kill you just for the fun of it or rape your wife or kids or dogs in front of you since you were a pussy and didn’t fight back…Why even have a gun you fucking bitch if you’re not going to use it to defend yourself…They aren’t lawful by what they are doing so if MS13 shows up are you going to cower and give over…Sheesh what happened to all the men in America…

  15. Dave says:

Here is a scenario to consider, your daughter is raped by an affluent frat boy. He makes bail and hires the best defense lawyer in town. He says something offensive before court starts and you get mad in front of witnesses. his lawyer petitions the court to have your guns removed as you are a threat to his client. just use your imagination from here out.

    • Henry Dissen III says:

That and literally a million other scenarios are exactly what these laws are intended to accomplish.

  16. Sanders says:

A while back I used to see a guy posting on liberty-type forums. He’d make fun of “Patriot’s ever moving line in the sand.”

Looking back on it, I believe he was some kind of government provocateur like Sammy.

Anyway, my response to him was that they crossed that line way back at Ft. Mudge and just haven’t gotten in range yet.

Every man (and woman) has to decide for what they are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.

  17. NewVegasBadger says:

It is a 100% certainty that the Red Flag Laws WILL BE abused, and misused as to disarm lawful citizens. Which is the whole point behind it. And it will be a given that once confiscated by the shiny badge wearing AGWs they will not be returned to their now former owner. Many will “get lost”. A free firearm with paperwork; what is not to love about it.

All citizens are equal, except for those citizens who are more equal than others

  18. DanB says:

One day a group of men and boys stood on the grass in a little town. One of their leaders said, “If they mean to start a war, let it begin here.” Or something like that. When the soldiers showed up they told the men to break it up and go home. Out-numbered, and out-gunned, some of the men maybe began to have second thoughts. Maybe some even took a step backwards.

Suddenly, from somewhere, one side or the other, a shot rang out. The soldiers fired. Some of the men fell. The rest scattered and ran. And the soldiers went on their way. But on their way back…

I don’t know; I wasn’t there. Maybe it was true; maybe it was just a false legend somebody made up.

  19. Butch says:

I don’t have any registered guns. And if the red flag BS law is passed, I will buy several burner phones and begin calling the Fusion Centers and reporting the commie politicians that continue to fuck us every time they are in session. And then report the county tax people and the commie judges. Oh, I could have some real fun with this law.

I might keep several SQUAT Teams real busy bustin’ down doors and killing dogs.

  20. Travis says:

It’s not made up. Parker’s Revenge a mile outside Lexington, April 19 1775.

  21. Rick says:

Basically we are at that point where there should be civil unrest but involving the people who really mean it, not the pantifa and snowflakes like now. A baseball bat around every corner ready to knee cap every cop. Scope up and snipe. Make it so untenable for the enforcers that they just stay home. Surround state capitols and legislative sessions; chain the doors shut, block the back doors and subway tunnels. Give them a taste of thier own medicine.

Remember, it is the politicians who made it this way.

    • Sam Whittemore says:

You forgot, after chaining the doors and blocking passageways, light the whole mess up.

  22. Sam Whittemore says:

Smile, let them find your junk guns bought for the purpose. Even let them find somehing ”good” hidden away. Let them leave. Best case, you aren’t even home. They don’t pre warn you, after all. Go through the process of trying to get back your “most prized possessions”. Spend only what you wish to on it. Use it to full effect learning who you are dealing with. Then, later, once all is past and you are forgotten, get yours. Carefully. The objective here is not to die for your country, but to rain hell on its enemies from distance and darkness. Preferably for a lifetime.

  23. Bacon says:

I’ve hung out with Mas and shot with him recreationally. Nice enough guy, as patriotic as most cops, but certainly not a Patriot. So nothing he wrote here surprises me.

What bothers me more is what has happened to Backwoods Home. Dave Duffy used to be one of us but no longer. His publications no longer deserve our support.

  24. Bill says:

I hope your are not a Japanese American, because there is a concentration camp with your name on it. That was legal at one time to. Also maybe a little Jew in the oven or gas chamber. That was also legal. Maybe you need to re-read those documents that make Americans, Americans. I say shoot to kill any cop or fed trying to violate my rights.. Of course I could also find out where that cop or fed lives and violate their rights to have a family…. Just a thought from an average armed to the teeth AMERICAN……

  25. Paraclete says:

He’s pandering and compitulating like the NRA and others do.
Our Bill of Rights are the supreme law of the land, period !
Anything that they would bring forth which runs contrary to Our Rights
is simply “NULL AND VOID” Those who might be deemed “unsuitable”
to own firearms, this should be PROVEN in a court of law. Not by secret
judges and panels. This my friends is simply pure communism, and
anyone who endorses these methods should be SHUNNED, period !
Mass is simply employing the tactics which the NRA and others have done.
He’s saying, “my rights are special, but yours, being a peasant, well,
that’s another issue.” Anyone who brings forth this ideology and talking points
should be tried for sedition. The enemies of our Republic want to start a shooting
war for they believe they’ll win. They don’t mind ruling over ruins, as long as
they’re the ones in power. This cannot be borne ! Nor will it be !
When this goes hot, and it will, these creatures will be decimated.

  26. Paraclete says:

To add to the “cop at heart”…
    No, he’s not really a cop…he’s a constable.
    And professional “witness”
    Which translates …”wanna-be”
Still the same, “cop heart”, “cop desires”…
Desires to lord over others, just like all the those
who desire and seek “power” any where they can find it.
    Because, “They’re special”

  27. Sanders says:

Kops have become the standing army the Founders warned us about. They may not be quartered in our homes, but they are quartered in our neighborhoods.

Their loyalty is not to the People. It is to the government. I don’t care how many of you cops out there say it is to the people, I’ve only seen two cops renounce their jobs and get real jobs due to cop culture. I worked with one who left the Tucson Police Dept because their cop culture sickened his sense of right and wrong. Another I know left a $100k/yr job with the State Police for the same reasons.

Day 1 of Arizona Law Enforcement Academy: “Everyone outside these walls is scum!!”

    • FaCubeItches says:

“They may not be quartered in our homes, but they are quartered in our neighborhoods.”

They no longer need to be quartered in our homes. They are paid by taxes, so quartering is effectively irrelevant.

  28. Fred Fredburger says:

Let them have the ones they can find, while exercising your right to remain silent. Otherwise the po po will get all violent and kill you for failure to comply. After all, you are an extreme risk. Make sure you spread your guns out so it is difficult to find all of them. Vigorously defend yourself in court, while steadfastly pleading the fifth on all questions about your firearms. Boating accidents happen, just shut your mouth about them.

Not all lawyers are flaming liberal pansy-asses, and not all cops take their oath seriously.

This is not intended to be legal advice to any particular person. IOW, you are not my client.
