Thank you, Mr Lazzaro

The Seneca Falls town supervisor is angling to end the town’s partnership with the National Women’s Hall of Fame.

Earlier this month, the National Women’s Hall of Fame announced that actress Jane Fonda would be among the 2019 inductees. Citing Fonda’s actions during the Vietnam War, Seneca Falls Supervisor Greg Lazzaro released a resolution Thursday morning to eliminate the town’s support of the Women’s Hall of Fame out of respect for veterans in the community.

The resolution, which is expected to be proposed at this week’s Town Board meeting, was released to the media and public Thursday morning.

She still spent more time in Vietnam than the senator from my state- Dick Blumenthal

Just as bad if not worse is the lawyer Gloria Allred is also being inducted into the Women’s Hall of Fame along with Jane Fonda. The choices this year must have been slim to none to pick these two reprobates to be inducted.

I’ve lived in Seneca Falls for the last 25 yrs it being my wife’s hometown. This town and the surrounding area is mostly right leaning and conservative.

Having said that Seneca Falls is considered the birthplace of women’s rights and the suffrage movement in the United States. It is because of this the resolution will probably fail by a vote of 3-2 with Supervisor Lazzaro and Councilman Ferrara voting for the resolution and the other three led by Doug Avery, whose is running for supervisor to replace Lazzaro who will not be running for re-election because his party did not endorse him for re-election, will vote against the resolution.

There is a wild card that may flip the vote the other way but I highly doubt it. The Hall of Fame and the women’s rights movement are to intertwined with the historical tourism that comes to the town to let this resolution pass.

I know Greg Lazzaro because his youngest son used to be close friends with my oldest son. The two having grown up together and in the same graduating class at high school.

Lazzaro is not a native of Seneca Falls but is originally from New York City and he’s been a controversial figure in town politics since he became town supervisor.

I wholeheartedly support this resolution but I know I’m pissing in the wind and it will probably be voted down.
