It’s Not Trump Derangement Syndrome

he Democrats’ behavior after 2016 is not mass delusion or mass hysteria or Trump Derangement Syndrome, or any of the other psychobabble explanations that dominate our political commentary. My first career was as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, and I am not impressed with spraying around clinical terms as a substitute for looking at what is in front of us. Trump Derangement Syndrome is a colorful description for political behavior. It is not an analysis of what causes it.

Under Barack Obama, ordinary Democrats became enamored of the narrative that they were the Good People, hence entitled to crush anyone in their way, because everything they do is in the service of social justice.

Many on the left ARE “deranged” when the subject of Trump comes up. They often get agitated and angry, often to the point of violence when any positive mention of Trump is made. If that isn’t a derangement syndrome then nothing is.

    Very good article.

So, democrats are like Islam….all is fair while advancing the cause?….makes perfect sense….they don’t have to be “good people” in those circumstances….obviously not….

  4. CC says:

If they were truly good people with a just cause, they shouldn’t have any problem getting everyone to go along, eh?

the hate the left has is astonishing. I despised barry soetoro and shrub for that matter but the level of hate the left has is something else. the article explains why.

There’s no such thing as Trump derangement syndrome, or have we forgotten we used to call it Bush derangement syndrome. At the time I used to say that the left didn’t hate George W. Bush, in fact the left didn’t even know who George W. Bush was. You could have removed Bush and replaced him with anybody else not of the left and the left would have hated that person with equal venom, just for different reasons. George Bush was just a name and a face that was in the way. He was someone who was occupying their White House. You may have noticed that they were gearing up to do the same thing to Romney but that all became moot. What they’re doing with Trump now is the same thing, just kicked up a notch. And make no mistake about it, if Mike Pence becomes President sometime in the future he will become the new “Hitler”, or the new worst person in the world, ad nauseam. The left owns the White House and they don’t want anybody else in it. What the left will try to do is what they did to Palin in Alaska, where they made her tenure there untenable through non stop lawsuits. Call it lawfare as opposed to warfare, but they’re trying to make it impossible for Trump to govern through non stop lawsuits, investigations, accusations, etc. If a Republican is in the White House they intend to bring government to a halt in an attempt to force the occupant out.

Nice article and all, but it’s something like entry 45,691,017 in the “This Is What’s Wrong” list of articles, posts, books, shows, movies, etc. The problem has been identified, re-identified, re-re-identified, confirmed, re-confirmed, etc. Someone is going to have to play the First Penguin and start the “Here’s The Concrete Steps We Need To Take To Fix It” list of articles, posts, books, etc.

If your comment 'disappears', don't trip - it went to my trash folder and I will restore it when I moderate.
