DOJ employee is accused of helping her son and the Bloods intimidate informants

The Department of Justice says one of its own “repeatedly” helped the Bloods street gang protect its interests by identifying and exposing informants and cooperating witnesses.

Tawanna Hilliard works in an administrative role for the US Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, court documents say. According to the US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, over a period of more than two years, Hilliard used her access to information to help her son Tyquan Hilliard, 28, and his gang, the 5-9 Brims set of the Bloods.

I’m guessing that some of those ‘snitches’ got terminal cases of dead. As a facilitator of those murders, she’s up for at least ‘Felony Murder’.

When I was working for the local pd in long-term investigations (I was a staff assistant, not a cop) we had to create our own records system and radio system, as some Records staff and at least 1/2 of the Comm Center people were funneling information to ‘their relatives.’ When caught, the person usually was told not to do it, given days off with pay, and that was that. They couldn’t even ban cell phones from the Comm Center because… So the radio people would be dispatching a cop to an address while having the phone on speaker to the people at the address.

Well, not totally without consequences. Some would get fired. Some would get promoted.

Yeah, guess the race of the ‘relatives’ and the ones not getting disciplined or who got promoted?

Sickened me. We’d send a fake case in once in a while to test the system. It never got better.

We knew we were dead in the water on a lot of investigations when the State’s Attorneys’ Office and the Clerk of the Court were leaking like a sieve hit by a shotgun blast. But until the info from our office got to them, we controlled it. But the info would hit the streets within 24 hours once the Records division, or the SAO or CotC got their hot little hands on it.
