Shit, I meant to post this yesterday

Lisa’s mother is having knee surgery this morning and we’re going to be at the hospital most if not all morning. Hell, probably part of the afternoon, too.
Because GoDaddy still isn’t finished migrating this site back to Linux, I’m not able to schedule posts, so you’ll have to find something else to amuse you until I get back home.
Yeah, I know – I’m not real thrilled about it either.

Wirecutter, if this is the worst thing to happen to your audience today, then it’s gonna be a great day!

My best to your Mother In Law on her surgery. I don’t envy a day hanging out in a hospital so find some good java and hang tough.

You’re doing the right thing. Our family policy is to stay at the hospital while a family member is admitted, cause staff never fuck up, right? They seem to perform better when they know they’re monitored.

We will still be here when you get back. Best wishes and prayers for all.

  17. Bill says:

I hope Lisa’s mom has a successful surgery and an easy recovery.

This is just an observation, but knee replacement surgery seems to be much more prevalent than in years past. The only thing I can think of is that the population is getting heavier, which translates into more stress on the knee. But there has to be more to it than that.

    • OC says:

Bill, I had both of my knees replaced, the second one just 4 weeks ago.
      ‘Course I’m fat……….;-)

B.I.L., ex-college football play with 2 wonky knees just had his first one done. Couldn’t believe how quick rehab was and how quick he was walking again, and how much much better it felt. He now can’t wait to do the other. Hope your M.I.L. recovers quickly and smoothly – if her knee was really bad she is going to be a whole lot happier going forward. Cheers.

  29. T says:

Best wishes to your MIL! If she can complete her rehab properly, it will be like a whole new, pain free, knee. Fingers and toes crossed –
