I probably haven’t listened to the radio for a total of 10 minutes in the past 4 years. I accidentally turned it on a couple weeks ago and heard a country rap song. I damned near destroyed my stereo trying to turn it off.

  5. Jess says:

Country music isn’t dead. Nashville is dead. It choked to death on glitter pop.

  6. Michael says:

When you have a minute check out Steel Wood.

“While they call Nashville home, their lead singer and co-founder was born and reared in Randolph County, Alabama and their sound is distinctively Southern, a composite of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Marshall Tucker Band, Blackfoot, Waylon Jennings, and Jamey Johnson.”

Damn right. WQAH 105.7 is my go to local station. They play classic country during the week. Saturday nights from 6-12 it is “Bluegrass Saturday Night”. Then, on Sunday mornings they have a country/bluegrass gospel show from 7 A.M. till noon. The station streams live here.

  11. Grandpa says:

Brother Kenny, I may have shared this link with you before:
Real country music from Fort Worth, Texas. All y’all are welcome.

  12. Dano says:

My wife plays The Highway on Sirius. It’s supposed to be country but all I hear is some southern jackass rapping over this godawful country r&b crap or whatever you want to call it. Kinda sounds like country music but with a clothes dryer going with a pair of shoes and a handful of change inside. Five minutes into a drive with her and I’m reaching for the dial. Won’t hear no Hank Williams Jr on that station.

  13. greg says:

Just like the stinking nobel peace prize. They bullshit around with that all the time. So, keep plenty of Tammy Wynet around. You’ll be alright.

  14. Sarthurk says:

Try Corb Lund. A Canadian Cowboy with a sense of humor and Humility.

  15. Rooster says:

You gotta play it right. Place an AM radio in dash with the one speaker just above it and crank it about halfway. Then your jammin!

  16. Wl moses says:

Whiskey Meyers would have to disagree.

Play nice.
