Nice fish

LUBBOCK, Texas (KLBK) — A Texas angler said he was stunned to pull a 14 pound largemouth bass out of the water at Lake Alan Henry Reservoir in West Texas Sunday.

“When I put my hands on her to lift her out of the water and land her in the boat, I was in disbelief,” Blake Cockrell said.

The biggest largemouth I ever caught was just over 10 pounds. I caught it up at Don Pedro reservoir on a spinnerbait, had my buddy Dave take a picture of me holding it, then I put it back into the water.
Dave must’ve been higher than fuck because when I had the film developed (that might give you an idea of how long ago that was) it was so blurry I could barely recognize myself, much less what kind of fish it was.
I could’ve shot him.

The largest fish I ever caught was a 125lb Halibut.
That’s nothing extraordinary up here in Alaska, but I was all by myself, and had a hell of time getting it into the boat without breaking the pole or the line, without help.
I was soaking wet with sweat when I finally got it into the boat.

That’s a beauty. Biggest one I ever caught was just under 5#. Was using an ultra light rod and regular weight spinning reel and a dark rooster tail with a brass spinner. Couldn’t turn the initial run. It was early spring and the water was cold. I think that’s why it ran out of gas after about 25 yards. Caught four trout that day too. Have the picture around somewhere. Made the local paper.

That’s a great fish story, Ken.
