Not a big fan of veer off into pop rock but I love Humble Pie big time. Steve Marriot was something else.

Frampton released a nice blues album this summer. I understand he is having some physical issues that could potentially affect his playing. I discovered him during his pop-rock heyday, but have really enjoyed his work with Humble Pie (“The Humble Pies” as Muddy Waters referred to them) in recent years.

    • Keith says:

He has inclusion-body myositis, a degenerative autoimmune disease that weakens the muscles.

  3. joe says:

I’ve really enjoyed listening to his recent music.

  4. Mister BlueSky says:

I was in Houston the summer this live album was released.
A black guy told me “Every black in Houston owns this album.”

  5. wildbill says:

I say him in concert at the Nashville Speedway July 4, 1976. He put on a great show. Gary Wright (Dream Weaver) opened for him.

I was in the audience at the Marin part of his Frampton Comes Alive album taping. I didn’t enjoy his music that much on the radio, but the live performance was spectacular. Lots of fun. That wahwah gizmo was a hoot.

  7. Padawan says:

This is the only version of “Baby I Love Your Way” I’ll listen to.

Some pals of mine in college had a bad that opened for Framton back in the 70s. He was an arrogant little jerk with a Napoleon complex. Even his roadies hated him.
