A quarter pound bullet…..

Great video, but the best parts are at the end when he puts a couple rounds through one.
It doesn’t look too bad in real time, but the slow motion shots? It makes his face do what faces aren’t intended to do.

The box of 10 cartridges sold for $20,700. The 4 bore rifle once owned by the Nizam sold for $258,750. This was in the spring of 2016.

I have an old single shot 10ga. that probably kicks like that . It’s really no fun to shoot.

  3. Nemo says:

Well that was interesting. Nice that he showed the firings in slomo. I was impressed by the apparent 4 inches or so movement of the rifle in recoil. That’s a BFG.

The slo-mo at 22:00 is awesome. That is a stout weapon.

  7. Firehand says:

An early African explorer(can’t remember his name) had a 4-bore muzzleloader, and blamed it for ruining his ability to shoot accurately. Often had a nosebleed after firing it.

Have you read Unintended Consequences by John Ross? If not, I can lend you mine, they are a little hard to come by. He goes into some detail about these rifles. This is a must read novel for any Patriot out there. Written in 1996. He essentially has predicted where we are within the gun culture today.
    What would Henry Bowman do?

  9. Ragnar says:

Geeze. I thought the .375 HH Magnum I used in Alaska on a caribou hunt had some kick.

    I bow my head.

Does that quarter pounder come with fries, or are we short for a happy meal?

  12. Danny says:

Google C.Stolzer and sons gunsmithing,” Double Deuce” 2 bore. Also 2 bore pistol. Almost a 1/2 pound of lead per shot. MANGUN-LOL.

What was the outcome with your truck??

    • Wirecutter says:

Not sure. I changed the filter and added some HEET to the tank, but it’s an intermittent problem so I won’t know if it’s fixed or not until next time it messes up, if it does at all.

Dad had an 8 gauge I shot it once when I was 19 years old, never again.
