Musician John Prine is in critical condition in a hospital after a “sudden onset” of coronavirus symptoms, his family says.

Prine, 73, was hospitalized on Thursday and intubated Saturday night and continues to receive care but “his situation is critical,” according to a family statement posted on his verified Twitter account.

    I learned to play guitar listening to John Prine when I was teenager back in the 70’s. To paraphrase this legend, “He’s a part of our heart -don’t you tear us apart – he’s like one of the family”. Hang in there sir. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
